We Never Know # 2

The farmer had a young boy. His boy liked his black horse very much. Every afternoon after helping him in the farm, his boy would ride the black horse together with his other seven horses in the nearby field. One day an accident happened. His boy fell from the black horse and broke his right leg. His fellow farmers said that his black horse brought him bad luck. He didn’t say a word.

A few years passed by, there was a war in his country. The military came to the village and took away all the healthy boys by force to join the army. His crippled boy was left behind because he didn’t qualify physically. His fellow farmers cried in sadness and despair. They might never see their kids again.

Was it bad luck or good luck that happened to his boy?
